About The Position

Pretium Packaging is seeking an Inspector Packer for the 2nd shift, working from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet company quality standards, preparing them for shipping or storage, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety and compliance, including food safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school / Grade 10 level education
• 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing/packaging
• Knowledge of reading and understanding simple instructions
• Basic writing/communication skills
• Simple math skills (add, subtract, count, measure)
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Ability to use common sense in routine situations
• Attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to use hands for repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift light to moderate weight (up to ~50 lbs.)
• Ability to walk, reach, and handle objects
• Close vision required

Responsibilities

• Pack products into containers/cartons
• Seal and label packages
• Prepare products for shipping or storage
• Inspect products, materials, and containers
• Ensure products meet company quality standards
• Identify and report defects or issues
• Operate or assist with machines (e.g., conveyors)
• Start/stop or monitor equipment
• Documentation/Record keeping
• Keep work area clean
• Maintain organized workspace
• Work efficiently and meet production goals
• Follow instructions and procedures
• Be reliable and consistent
• Communicate issues to supervisors
• Other duties may be assigned
• Follow workplace safety rules (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act)
• Wear PPE (protective equipment)
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions
• Work safely around machinery
• Responsible for food safety, food quality and site safety
