We are hiring Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior Inspectors to support maintenance and construction inspection for infrastructure projects in the Lake City, FL area. These roles vary in responsibility based on experience but are united by the common goal of upholding quality, safety, and compliance standards in the field.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Fleet drivers must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
  • High school diploma/GED required, Associate's preferred.
  • One year of CEI/MEI experience (or relevant training) for Junior Inspectors.
  • One to three years of CEI/MEI experience for Mid-Level Inspectors.
  • Four+ years CEI/MEI experience for Senior Inspectors.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs.
  • Ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects.
  • Proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy settings.
  • Ability to stand and walk during site visits.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred for Senior Inspectors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic construction inspection tasks under close supervision.
  • Perform measurements, observations, and basic field tests.
  • Learn and apply FDOT procedures and safety standards.
  • Document field activities using prescribed formats and systems.
  • Support more experienced inspectors in their daily duties.
  • Perform more complex field inspections independently.
  • Check engineering computations and conduct field tests.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with specifications and safety regulations.
  • Exercise independent judgment on standard field decisions.
  • Coordinate with other team members and contribute to project documentation.
  • Lead and manage field inspection teams, including oversight of junior staff.
  • Perform and document highly technical inspections.
  • Resolve field issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as liaison with clients, contractors, and Project Administrators.
  • Ensure full compliance with FDOT standards and project specifications.
  • Train and mentor less experienced inspectors.
