About The Position

This role involves conducting assessments of vehicle condition, noting any damage or repair needed for various components such as the frame, paint, engine, AC/heater operation, radio, navigation systems, and tires. The Inspector I will prepare support documentation including vehicle identification data, condition descriptions, repair cost estimates, and photographs. They will maintain current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges, and manufacturer's updates, adhering to work instructions and procedures for inspections and documentation. The position also includes conducting courtesy walk-around inspections and following all applicable safety and health procedures. Additionally, the role may require locating, starting, and moving vehicles as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and automotive body work.
  • Previous body shop, automotive background and mechanical experience.

  • Prepare support documentation related to vehicle condition – including Vehicle identification data, condition description, repair costs estimate, photographs, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable labor rates, parts charges and manufacturer's updates; adhere to work instructions/procedures regarding inspections/documentation.
  • Conduct courtesy walk-around inspections.
  • Follow all applicable safety and health related procedures.
  • May be required to locate, start and move vehicles as directed
