About The Position

Pinnacle Engineering Group is searching for an Inspector I who will be responsible for supporting construction inspection and condition assessment activities by performing field inspections and monitoring construction operations for compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, safety requirements, and state, county and/or local municipality standards. This role supports project delivery through on-site construction observation, accurate field daily report documentation, field testing, record maintenance, and the preparation of reports, exhibits, and technical documentation using MS Office Suite, Bluebeam, or PDF editing software.

Requirements

  • 0-4 years of experience in transportation, infrastructure, roadway, utility, construction or a related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and inspection procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of highway design standards (e.g., AASHTO, MUTCD, DOT or local standards).
  • Basic understanding of engineering and construction management tools (construction management software (e.g. ProCore), PDF editing software, scheduling software, etc.).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of site development and transportation-related projects under supervision.
  • Assist Senior Inspectors and Construction Engineers in the preparation of inspection, evaluation, and condition assessment reports.
  • Monitor daily construction activities to ensure they meet blueprint specifications, plan sets, engineering standards, and safety codes.
  • Monitor contractor operations for adherence to state, county and/or local municipality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and environmental regulations.
  • Document field observations, measurements, and photographs in accordance with governing agency and inspection standards.
  • Prepare report exhibits, sketches, calculations, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform field testing, measurements, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project records and logs.
  • Review shop drawings and material submittals for compliance to plans and specifications.
