Inspector I performs basic inspection work in petroleum and petrochemical terminals and refineries. This role also involves inspection work on board barges and ships, adhering to industry standards and the procedures published by API and Saybolt. The position requires performing visual cleanliness inspections of tanks, including entering confined spaces, and verifying the accuracy of measurement equipment. Inspectors must work safely in the presence of hazardous materials, take product measurements and samples, complete calculations and reports accurately, perform inventories, and handle non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments. The role also includes performing other inspection department duties as assigned by the Manager or Scheduler. Inspectors are expected to adhere to procedural, safety, and quality requirements outlined in Saybolt procedures manuals, the Global Safety Manual, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt company policies. Additionally, they must attend training and pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection procedures, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials transportation, and other required safety training. The role also involves gaining knowledge of basic and advanced laboratory procedures through cross-training.
