About The Position

Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications. Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date. Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified. Assists in on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
1 year of construction experience
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements

Nice To Haves

Reads and understands plans and specifications.
Recognizes, documents, and escalates field issues.
Calculates pay quantities.
Understands change conditions.
Understands Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills at an intermediate level.
West Virginia Division of Highways experience
WVDOH Transportation Engineering Technician Level 1 or Level 2
