About The Position

The Inspector-ARP position involves observing all safety rules and regulations, performing duties in a safe and efficient manner, and conducting safety audits and observations. This role requires an understanding of the machines and products being manufactured. The Inspector will communicate with the quality technician from the previous shift to discuss pertinent information regarding manufacturing issues, including orders, machine issues, and staffing. Key responsibilities include performing first piece, in-process, and final inspections, as well as periodic inspections on production lines to ensure products meet acceptable limits for weight and tolerances. The Inspector will also train operators on quality standards, assist with new product launch qualifications, and ensure shipping containers are packed according to customer specifications. Maintaining the calibration system, assisting on machines/lines as required, and coordinating corrective actions for non-conformances are also part of the role. The Inspector will communicate issues related to Quality System performance, analyze data from statistical processes and audits, and identify areas for improvement. They will also assist with the organization, retention, and maintenance of quality records, fill out NCRs, provide training to new employees, and report non-compliance of policies to local management. Active participation in Performance Improvement teams is expected, with a commitment to providing customers with safe products that meet specifications, regulations, and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform safety audits and/or observations (CBT’s and safety program).
  • Understand what machines and products are being manufactured.
  • Communicate with the quality technician from the previous shift and discuss all pertinent information regarding manufacturing issues (orders, machine issues, staffing…)
  • Perform first piece inspections, perform in-process inspections and perform final inspections.
  • Perform periodic inspections on production lines to ensure the products are within acceptable limits (weight, tolerances…)
  • Contact operator and report any non-conforming issues.
  • Train operators on each machine to ensure clear understanding of quality standards.
  • Assist with new product launch qualification and other objectives as directed by quality supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure that shipping containers are packed according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain calibration system. Update and maintain compliance.
  • Assists on machines/lines as required.
  • Coordinate with Production or other personnel in developing and taking necessary corrective action when non-conformances are discovered.
  • Communicate issues in analyzing Quality System performance using available data from statistical processes, audit information, etc.
  • Be attentive to inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and processes in need of improvement.
  • Assist quality supervisor/manager with the proper organization, retention, and maintenance of quality records.
  • Fill out NCRs as necessary.
  • Provide training and assistance to new employees.
  • Report non-compliance of policies to local management.
  • Be an active participant in Performance Improvement teams.
