About The Position

As an Inspector Apprentice at Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, you will receive hands-on training from experienced team members while inspecting vehicles and documenting their condition. No previous experience or education is required; training is provided. The role supports daily operations by creating accurate vehicle records. It is based at a specified Cox location, with no remote option and no travel.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to pass the Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Minimal knowledge of automotive body and mechanical work.
• One year of body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster, or estimating experience.
• Experience navigating handheld and other documentation devices.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification and enter information into the inspection system, including VIN, year, make, model, subseries, and mileage.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document damage, previous repairs, structural issues, and missing or inoperable items.
• Evaluate and record vehicle exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, body panels, and mechanical components.
• Document vehicle interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and vehicle options.
• Complete and verify data entry.
• Perform other duties as needed, including jump-starting, moving, and photographing vehicles.
