About The Position

This position is a Second shift position. Perform quality assurance activities to ensure product conformance. Primary responsibilities include inspection and testing, line audits, and quality-related support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Sort, and other Departments. This position will also perform verification of corrective actions and support new hire quality training.

Requirements

HSD/GED or equivalent experience
3-5 years experience in a Quality position in a Manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with gages, measuring equipment, and testing equipment including but not limited to micrometers, tri-roll gages and optical comparators.
Ability to read and understand blue prints.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good working knowledge of SPC.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in fastener industry a plus.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and/or tests to verify product conformance.
Will also work with set-ups (grain flows), parts in process (heat treat inspection), finished product (final inspection, including embrittlement and drive torque tests), subcontracted parts, or tooling.
Writes IMI on parts that do not meet specification.
Make sure discrepant products are tagged.
Complete all re-inspections.
Communicates with responsible departments, and or suppliers regarding discrepancies.
Report nonconformance and with assistance, determines dispositions and process deviations.
Initiate or take key roles in problem resolution, improvement activities, and prevention measures.
Perform internal audits, and assist Supervisor during external audits including corrective measures.
Perform and support SPC activities, including new hire operator training.
Initiate, complete, or verify records documenting quality assurance activities to ensure compliance to internal procedures, customer requirements and ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14001, and IATF16949 standards.
