About The Position

This is an onsite position located in the Cell Assembly Department. The role focuses on preventing quality issues in advance and maximizing output (yield, OEE) through the establishment of inspection systems, management of inspection equipment maintenance, improvement of inspection equipment performance, and the introduction of new equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
  • 0 to 3 Years Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Machine Vision Engineering in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar is preferred.
  • Driven by objectives/KPI’s; consistent; and high personal ownership to upholding accountability to established standards and practices.
  • Ability to use Logical thinking and decision making by focusing on identifying root cause objectively using data, analyzing production results, and following proven problem-solving methods.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical/technical curiosity and mindset.
  • Commitment and desire to learn our complex battery manufacturing processes with the goal of becoming a go-to resource for technical problem-solving discussions.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • MS Office tool-based report writing and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations, including stopping work in emergencies, reporting singularities, accidents, and risk factors, and implementing safety improvements.
  • Inspection machine PM management, including PM planning, technician PM work order and result checks, optimization of preventive maintenance items, establishment of spare parts management system, and calibration for performance maintenance and MSA management.
  • Inspector equipment improvement activities, including analyzing and quantifying equipment failure items (MTTR, MTBF), analyzing failure causes and deriving improvement items, reviewing and implementing predictive maintenance plans, preventing recurrence through failure analysis reports and education, and requesting improvements from equipment makers for chronic problems.
  • Improving/managing inspection machine accuracy and detection power, including monitoring accuracy and detection power, deriving and analyzing factors for major inspection items, providing feedback to production and equipment departments for process-borne issues, deriving improvement plans and optimizing inspection conditions for inspection machine issues, and continuously monitoring the results of measures.
  • Establishment of inspection information management system, including investment review and capex execution approval, inspection information management system development schedule management, reviewing compliance with system ordering specifications and monitoring data I/F stabilization, and system mass production transfer and reporting.
  • Expansion of equipment and dissemination/application of new technologies for inspection, including investment review and capex execution approval, inspection machine setup schedule management, verification of facility production capacity and stabilization of operation quality, and mass production transfer and inspection report after setup completion.
  • Review/plan of Inspection machine Model development and Model change, including review of model development (investment, schedule), investment review and capex execution approval, inspection machine H/W production and inspection recipe development schedule management, and model change recipe status management.
  • Developing Technician skill improvement plan and implementing, including developing and running training courses and technician skill matrix management.
  • Establishment and management of inspection machine standards (design, installation, operation), including establishment and revision of inspection machine specifications, design standards, and inspection machine IP.
  • Establishment and revision of PFD, BM/PM/PD Manual (BM/PD Measures Guide), including analyzing causes and checking action history for BM/PD issues, enactment/revision of PFD and BM/PD manual, and production team sharing and training.
  • Developing Competency through participation in LBA, business exchanges, online training, and mentoring programs.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the superior.
