About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking an entry-level InSite Chemist to serve customers in San Jose, California. The role involves general labor and hazardous-waste handling at customer sites, typically serving one customer per day and visiting multiple sites throughout the week. Work includes substantial walking and collecting hazardous waste from different departments at client sites. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 6:00 a.m. start and eight-hour days. Mileage is provided for travel. The position offers training and support, with opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Valid driver's license.
Hold or be willing to obtain a CDL Class B.
Willingness to complete a background check, drug test, and physical.

Nice To Haves

Prior chemical-handling experience or chemistry knowledge is preferred.
A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Science is a plus.

Responsibilities

Make waste pickups at laboratories as needed.
Package and label waste products and other materials.
Identify unknown chemicals when encountered.
Inspect staging, accumulation, and storage areas for proper housekeeping and compliance.
Collect, segregate, and package waste chemicals for efficient and compliant disposal.
Perform quality control of waste materials being stored and shipped.
Complete required manifests and tracking paperwork.
Use CHOICE waste management software to manage waste programs accurately and efficiently.
Travel among customer sites and collect hazardous waste from different departments.
