About The Position

This role combines Inside Sales and Warehouse Worker responsibilities. The Inside Sales function focuses on providing product knowledge for building materials such as drywall, insulation, metal studs, ceiling systems, stucco, construction tools, safety items, drywall compound, and accessories. Key responsibilities include taking orders, building customer relationships, using the company computer system for order entry, completing sales orders, and assisting customers with purchases. Collaboration with Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Managers is expected to develop strategic sales approaches. The Warehouse Worker function is responsible for warehouse maintenance, shipping and receiving, product storage, inventory organization, and delivery preparation, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This includes maintaining health and safety compliance, preparing orders, loading/unloading trucks, managing inventory, organizing the warehouse, operating a forklift, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Requirements

Must be a team player, demonstrate attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
Minimum 1-2 years preferred industry or like experience.
Ability to use company computer system to enter orders.
Ability to operate basic office machinery.
Ability to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment as authorized and trained.

Responsibilities

Taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone.
Building relationships with customers.
Using company computer system to enter orders.
Completing sales orders and tender cash sales.
Developing product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.
Collaborating with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
Overcoming objections of prospective customers.
Emphasizing product/service features and benefits, quoting prices, discussing credit terms, and preparing sales order forms and/or reports.
Maintaining health and safety compliance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Preparing orders by processing requests, pulling accurate materials, and placing them in the appropriate area for customer pickup or delivery.
Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently.
Maintaining inventory controls by minimizing material damage and ensuring order accuracy.
Organizing the warehouse and managing bin locations to support efficient operations.
Establishing, maintaining, and promoting high standards of customer service.
Ensuring equipment is maintained and operated according to company standards.
Operating a forklift and other warehouse equipment as authorized and trained.
Assisting with product storage, material handling, and delivery setup activities.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Performing other warehouse duties as assigned.
