About The Position

The Inside Sales Team Lead is responsible for managing a personal inside sales account base while supporting the leadership, training, and operational consistency of the Inside Sales team. Acting as a senior-level resource, this role partners with Inside Sales Representatives, Outside Sales Representatives, Operations, Purchasing, and Management to provide a world class customer experience while supporting workflow, coaching, onboarding, and team development.

  • Strong computer proficiency including ERP systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and Excel
  • Ability to create and communicate processes, procedures, and training materials
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of inside sales, customer service, or distribution experience preferred
  • Prior leadership, coaching, or training experience preferred
  • Experience in building materials, surfacing, woodworking, or distribution environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage a personal book of inside sales accounts including quotes, order entry, customer communication, and order follow-up
  • Provide leadership and support to the Inside Sales team through coaching, training, and workflow guidance
  • Support onboarding and training for ISR associates on systems, products, customer service expectations, and standard operating procedures
  • Lead by example in delivering a high-quality customer experience through phone and email communication
  • Assist associates in resolving customer concerns, pricing questions, product application issues, and delivery concerns
  • Partner with Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Outside Sales teams to resolve escalated issues and improve service levels
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales activity documentation within CRM and ERP systems
  • Support management with process improvement initiatives, reporting, workflow consistency, and training documentation
  • Participate in interviews and provide feedback regarding ISR candidates when requested
  • Monitor team workflow and assist with prioritization of customer requests, backorders, and service-related issues
  • Provide support for delegated managerial responsibilities during Inside Sales Manager absences
  • Promote company products, services, and programs while supporting margin goals and customer retention
  • Attend and participate in product knowledge, leadership, and sales training opportunities
  • Provide assistance with operational duties and cross-functional support as needed
  • Meet established productivity, response time, accuracy, and service expectations
  • Additional duties as assigned
