About The Position

The primary function of the Inside Sales Specialist is to act as the liaison between Standex Electronics and the customers / accounts to which they are assigned. Correspondence includes phone calls, emails and conference calls regarding purchase orders, price quotes, order status, ship dates, expedite requests, tracking information, invoices, etc. The successful candidate will have solid business acumen, exceptional customer service orientation, problem solving, analytical, and advanced communication and organizational skills. The Inside Sales Specialist is accountable for specific details and requirements for each of their customers. Responsibilities include managing supplier portals (web-based orders / updates), spreadsheets, shipping methods and special paperwork such as commercial invoices, etc. All communication with the customer should be in a timely and professional manner. An ability to work independently and under time constraints is crucial. The Inside Sales Specialist is also responsible for handling inbound calls from potential customers, as well as the proper routing / escalation of these calls.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • High-level organization, problem solving, attention to detail, and multitasking.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and departments; handle objections.
  • Ability to understand material requirements planning process.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen, phone etiquette, and crisis management capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Energetic team player.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not necessary.
  • SAP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all functions of both a Customer Service Representative and Inside Sales Representative
  • Serve as the key internal contact for customers.
  • Establish profitable pricing levels through the successful quotation of products.
  • Support customers throughout the order process to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate customer service activities for assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for order processing and related non-technical customer service functions to assigned accounts.
  • Proactively and concisely communicates issues affecting customer schedule requirements.
  • Analyze and take appropriate, constructive action on issues affecting product profitability.
  • Work to ensure cooperative and effective relationships involving activities between various functional departments.
  • Follow up on timelines and supports customers’ expectations.
  • Utilize ERP (SAP Business One) system to process orders, generate quotes, analyze data, track and maintain customer information.
  • Promote a positive image of Standex Electronics to customers and the industry.
  • Provide feedback / insight within organization to help improve customer-driven culture.
