About The Position

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our growing marketing team. This role will Perform assigned operational activities by handling opportunities, quotes, pricing, follow‑ups and proactive customer calls for accounts while maintaining accurate CRM data for all accounts and prospects. Collaborate cross‑functionally, resolve issues, assist with expedites, and deliver timely, high‑quality, customer‑focused service while driving process efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required/Associate preferred
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in sales support, customer service, administrative, or related roles
  • Exposure to a fast‑paced office or customer‑facing environment preferred
  • Experience working with CRM systems, ERP tools, or sales databases is a plus but not required
  • Foundational understanding of sales processes and terminology
  • Basic knowledge of company products, offerings, and customer segments
  • Ability to use CRM and internal systems at a user level with guidance
  • Understanding of standard sales support activities (quotes, follow‑ups, customer calls)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and managing opportunities for C and D level accounts and prospects
  • Effectively advocates for customer needs while balancing and representing Smalley’s business requirements.
  • Provides pricing or formal quote outside of opportunities when appropriate
  • Supports coordination of incoming inquiries with Engineering, Estimating, Customer Service, Quality, and Sales.
  • Supports efficient processes by collaborating with internal teams and assisting Marketing.
  • Provides support for Sales Engineers when other resources are unavailable
  • Supports Sales and Marketing by representing Smalley at trade shows
  • Reviews high‑value and/or high‑quantity opportunities with Sales Engineering
  • Uses sound judgment to escalate customer, departmental, or employee issues to the appropriate level of management.
  • Proactively completes temperature, annual, and qualifying customer calls.
  • Follow-up on quotes, samples, prototype orders, first run orders, and other tasks as necessary
