About The Position

Inside Sales Representative at Martin Sprocket & Gear is responsible for completing hands-on training, developing product expertise, providing technical support, responding to inbound sales inquiries, proactively engaging customers, processing orders and quotes, collaborating with Outside Sales, and analyzing sales data. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, mechanical aptitude, 1-3 years of sales or customer service experience, computer proficiency, and the ability to adapt to new processes and communicate effectively. The position involves working Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with the ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 pounds as needed. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude or technical inclination.
  • Ability to understand and work with complex technical or mechanical specifications.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sales or customer service role, ideally within a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new processes, technologies, and work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Complete hands-on training, including time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop deep understanding of the company's products and services.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers.
  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries regarding product details, pricing, order status, or delivery confirmation.
  • Proactively engage existing customers via phone, email, and other channels to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Process orders and quotes for stock items and custom-manufactured components and systems.
  • Collaborate with Outside Sales representatives on open opportunities.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
