About The Position

This role is responsible for driving profitable and sustainable growth through lead generation, customer relationship management, and sales support. The Inside Sales Representative will manage business matters via CRM, handle inbound and outbound sales calls, provide product information and recommendations, and resolve customer issues. The position requires a proactive approach to sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand and apply technical product knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years of related business-to-business customer service experience; or combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume for quotes and order entry.
  • Ability to learn technical products and understand their applications.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to analyze YoY trends through Pareto analysis.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Navision and MS/Salesforce CRM.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable utilizing pro-active phone skills.
  • Strong mathematical and technical aptitude.
  • Self-managed, team player, who can work independently.
  • Understanding part numbers, policies and products.
  • Compliance in price policies, discount structures and fees.
  • Ability to travel when needed to customers, sales meeting and training, expected not to exceed 20%.
  • Must be able to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead generation and prospecting through outbound calls and emails to existing customers and new leads.
  • Upselling products and services to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Managing business matters via CRM, including call schedules, quote follow-up, and customer inquiries.
  • Maintaining customer database and entering new customer and sales data.
  • Supporting management of smaller accounts through competitor analysis.
  • Handling inbound sales lead calls and converting them into sales.
  • Overcoming technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Providing product demos to qualified customers.
  • Emphasizing saleable features, quoting prices and credit terms, and preparing sales orders.
  • Tracking stock levels for accounts.
  • Estimating delivery dates based on lead times and capacity.
  • Coordinating customer training.
  • Building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Preparing reports of business transactions to track revenue.
  • Investigating and resolving customer problems with deliveries.
  • Visiting customer sites for business and application reviews as required.
  • Developing action plans to grow business for assigned accounts.
  • Providing updates to leadership.
  • Servicing customer requests for quotes and orders received through multiple channels.
  • Converting quotes to orders.
  • Consulting with Sales on commercial and technical issues.
  • Assisting customers with accurate transactions and industry-specific product information.
  • Providing power transmission and fluid power product recommendations and technical assistance.
  • Utilizing telephone sales and support skills to create interest and offer value-added products and services.
  • Building and expanding customer relationships to ensure replacement and increased business.
  • Handling RGAs, credits, and complaints.
  • Performing other projects and duties as assigned.
