Inside Sales - Lumber Industry (50205)

Lincoln Creek LumberTumwater, WA
$22 - $26Onsite

About The Position

Our Contractor Sales team drives the business-to-business side of Lincoln Creek Lumber, and we're looking for someone who can carry that work forward. This is not a counter job where you wait for orders to come in. It's a full-cycle sales position for a professional who knows the building trades, understands the day-to-day pressures contractors face, and is just as eager to chase down new accounts as to take care of the customers already counting on us. The right person can study a set of blueprints, turn them into an accurate material takeoff, and then get on the phone to open a new account before the morning is out. If that sounds like you, let's talk.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in contractor or building materials sales
  • Skill in reading construction drawings and blueprints and turning them into accurate material takeoffs
  • Comfort with CRM software; familiarity with Zoho is a plus
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-directed and accountable, with strong time management
  • Clear communicator face to face, over the phone, and in writing
  • Trustworthy, professional, and sincerely committed to your customers' success
  • Detail-oriented with sound analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, verbal and written, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, cold call, and develop new accounts; we reward people who generate their own momentum rather than wait for it
  • Manage a book of contractor and business accounts by building trust, reading what each customer needs, and staying a step ahead of them
  • Keep every lead, contact, and sales activity current and accurate in Zoho CRM
  • Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to produce detailed estimates and material takeoffs
  • Enter estimates and process customer orders through our POS system
  • Source vendors, research pricing, and issue purchase orders
  • Work hand in hand with shipping, bookkeeping, and other internal teams to keep orders moving smoothly
  • Confirm delivery accuracy with yard staff and customers
  • Watch customer buying patterns to surface upsell and add-on opportunities
  • Keep tabs on competitor pricing, products, and service so our department stays competitive
  • Share product knowledge, sales techniques, and system know-how with teammates when the chance comes up
  • Carry a radio and stay in contact with the team across the day
  • Pick, pull, and pack will-call orders when the situation calls for it
  • Uphold company policies and carry yourself professionally in every customer interaction
