About The Position

This opportunity is for SPX Technologies' Electric Heat business, a leader in electric heating and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. As an Inside Sales Engineer, you will provide technical assistance, sales support, sales follow-up, and compelling quotations to external customers. This role also supports quality and process improvements and assists other business functions requiring technical expertise.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a technical sales or support role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Results oriented mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and opportunities, and make data driven decisions
  • Detailed oriented approach, ensuring accuracy and completeness in data entry and reporting
  • Self-directed and organized, exhibiting strong initiative, and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple priorities in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Call on engineers, architects, sales representatives, contractors, and other technical personnel to promote products and services, demonstrate their value and practical application, and influence prospective clients.
  • Work with factory direct or outside sales representatives on the preparation and/or presentation of pricing, technical information, proposals and related documents.
  • Manage assigned product lines, geographic region, OEM or key accounts.
  • Perform quoting activity for customers.
  • Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or establish pricing.
  • Provide technical services to clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide technical training to field sales personnel.
  • Be a product expert and continually enhance the company’s products.
  • Recommend solutions, designs, alterations or application of company’s products or services to satisfy customer needs.
  • Act as a liaison between sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality and production control on issues regarding customer purchase orders.
  • Report competitive or commercial issues relating to company’s products or services to management.
  • Present the company to outside agencies.
  • Participate in all other duties as assigned that relate to the overall goals of the department or organization.
