About The Position

Equipment & Controls, Inc. (ECI) is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer/Specialist to join their Remote Automation Solutions team in Lawrence, PA. This role is crucial for maintaining customer relationships and growing business by leveraging internal relationships and providing technical expertise. The ideal candidate will use their engineering background to select and size solutions for customers, ensuring timely delivery or offering alternatives. This position works closely with account managers to build relationships within specific territory areas and requires a strong focus on customer service, technical knowledge, and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1-3 years of inside sales/application engineering experience with natural gas/industrial manufacturing accounts.
  • Experience working with large, complex accounts with both individual and team responsibilities.
  • Understanding of the technical and business challenges faced by the market.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver solutions.
  • Excellent organization and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong effective written and excellent oral communication skills with the ability to connect effectively across virtual platforms.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Team player able to work closely with Account Managers and representatives from other business units.
  • Strong drive and initiative, highly motivated.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers while creating dependency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customer needs through superior customer service, solution selling, and product/application knowledge.
  • Provide inside sales and technical support for ECI’s Remote Automation Solutions products and services, including Emerson brands of flow computers and RTUs/PLCs, as well as peripheral components and services.
  • Identify and qualify sales opportunities, understand the customer's business, and establish a value proposition that leads to sales.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and support staff to provide customer solutions efficiently.
  • Utilize CRM and other applicable tools to manage business processes.
  • Ensure timely responses to customer requests.
  • Maintain comprehensive customer support with a primary focus on customer retention.
