About The Position

Conklin Metal Industries is seeking an Inside Sales Associate for their Doraville, GA branch. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday, Day Shift. The Doraville branch has a strong history with established customer relationships and a dedicated team, now operating from a new, modern facility. Conklin Metal Industries has been a family-owned distributor of sheet metal, HVAC, and duct fabrication supplies since 1874, serving contractors and fabricators across the Southeast.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (higher education a plus).
• Excellent phone skills and a customer-first mindset.
• Experience in administrative, distribution, or industrial roles.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Sharp attention to detail and strong follow-through.
• Comfortable working between office and warehouse environments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP systems — Prophet 21/P21 a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer calls and walk-ins.
• Support Territory Managers in the field.
• Process orders with accuracy.
• Quote jobs.
• Chase down deliveries.
• Help contractors troubleshoot product questions.
• Answer inbound calls, emails, and walk-in customer inquiries with professionalism and product knowledge.
• Make proactive outbound calls weekly to keep relationships active and identify new opportunities.
• Support Territory Managers with quotes, order entry, and field-to-branch communication.
• Capture customer preferences (delivery schedules, product specs, special requirements).
• Spot trends in customer buying and collaborate with the team on growth opportunities.
• Process purchase orders, sales orders, and invoices with a high degree of accuracy.
• Manage returns, back-orders, and delivery tracking, and keep customers informed.
• Maintain clean, organized records.
• Support the Corporate Credit and Item Maintenance teams on account and product inquiries.
• Provide backup sales coverage during peak times.
• Track inventory needs and communicate with the Branch Manager and Replenishment team.
• Act as the internal go-to for product questions.
• Partner with Item Maintenance on new product setups.
