After training, employees may adopt a hybrid work schedule with two remote workdays per week, while continuing training until assigned a book of business with 100 or more mid-size customer accounts within specific industries. The role is led by a Manager of Inside Sales, with expectations to meet daily outbound call quotas and monthly sales goals. The start date for this position is July 27th, 2026. The hybrid schedule begins after on-site training completion. The role operates within a team-oriented sales-center environment, focused on establishing, cultivating, and building relationships with Grainger customers to grow revenue through strategic sales opportunities, leveraging Grainger’s selling skills, services, product line, and technology tools. The position offers uncapped commissions based on sales growth. Grainger sales teams emphasize Grainger’s principles and share best practices through sales contests, team huddles, and coaching sessions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
  • Comfort spending 50% or more of the day working with customers over the phone.
  • Experience with a customer relationship management software, such as Salesforce, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve your sales goal by maximizing customer time and your own.
  • Manage a book of business and build customer relationships to better understand their needs. and remain responsive to changing customer goals.
  • Source and prioritize new sales opportunities through outbound phone calls and email.
  • Adapt your communication approach by customer to best find solutions and solve their challenges.
  • Meet monthly performance metrics and demonstrate perseverance to overcome customer concerns and close sales opportunities.
