This remote position requires the ability to work in EST, CST, MST, or PST time zones and offers the opportunity to sell Commercial Lines of insurance. The role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization or STEM OPT extension.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years of related work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months of successful sales experience.
  • Ability to work in EST, CST, MST, or PST time zone as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate personal computer hardware/software in a WINDOWS environment.
  • Obtain required state licenses within the designated time period.

Nice To Haves

  • P & C License with ability to sell Commercial Lines preferred.
  • Undergraduate studies preferred.
  • Participation in professional insurance coursework.
  • Exposure to telemarketing in an insurance agency or insurance call center environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of or ability to learn quickly about commercial insurance products, insurance processing systems and procedures, best practices, state regulations, and customer service practices.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate technical insurance information.
  • Strong ability to influence prospective policyholders.
  • Continuing education as required by state(s).

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming calls/emails from commercial lines insurance agents or prospects, using multiple resources to consult and educate clients about coverage needs.
  • Perform front-end underwriting, risk assessment, financial analysis, and loss runs analysis to sell insurance.
  • Offer additional Nationwide Insurance products to provide applicable discounts.
  • Perform outbound calls and follow-up work to close sales.
  • Solicit potential agents or customers who did not purchase during the initial inquiry to overcome objections and complete the sale.
  • Interpret contracts and policy provisions for complex states, providing explanations and information to customers regarding coverage.
  • Determine and enter accurate information into related systems.
  • Write quality risk policies based on underwriting requirements, making decisions using classification systems, rating plans, tiers, and selection standards.
  • Utilize training and sales techniques to close sales.
  • Forward potential customers to other Nationwide channels as appropriate.
  • Answer questions, provide explanations, and make recommendations regarding appropriate coverage for commercial policies, limits, and deductibles, considering customer needs and company guidelines.
  • Determine and enter rating information into systems; provide quotations and bind coverage within prescribed limits.
  • Complete or collect necessary applications, forms, and documents; issue conditional contact/binder within authority.
  • Educate agents or customers on payment and audit processes.
  • Assist and contribute to the team's quotas/goals by meeting individual quotas/goals, as well as unit/team goals.
  • Maintain current understanding and proficiency in sales techniques and product offerings.
  • Stay up-to-date with state guidelines, market conditions, competitors, and systems enhancements.
  • Cross-train on other products and lines of business.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, which may include system changes, user acceptance testing, new product releases, and assisting peers with roll-out and adoption.
  • Participate in user meetings with IT, project teams, and consultants.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
