About The Position

Sycamore Springs, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a full-time Inpatient Therapist for its behavioral health hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. The therapist provides individual, group, and family counseling to patients and contributes to treatment planning. The role involves communication with patients, families, and outside referral sources, as well as collaboration with an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff.

Applicants must have a master's degree in social work or counseling, or relevant state licensure, and a current unencumbered clinical or social work license consistent with state practice guidelines. Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients is required. CPR and CPI certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Flexible hours may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients about psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
• Participate actively in the treatment planning process.
• Provide family session counseling to patients to support appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
• Communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff.
