About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Inpatient Therapist for our KIDS unit to join our onsite clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess a license, a strong background in mental health counseling, with expertise in providing comprehensive therapeutic services within an inpatient setting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through evidence-based practices, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and family counseling.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
  • Prefer a minimum of one-three (1-3) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Must possess a state licensure: LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW.
  • CPR and CPI training must be completed prior to beginning work.
  • Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention within inpatient or outpatient settings.
  • Strong background in adults and adolescents, and family counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Expertise in behavioral health modalities such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), addiction counseling, grief counseling, psychopharmacology, and gender issues counseling.
  • Familiarity with hospital experience, medical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent skills in patient assessment, case management, social work principles, and clinical counseling techniques.
  • Ability to handle complex cases involving PTSD care, chronic pain counseling, geriatrics, and special education needs.
  • Strong communication skills for intake procedures and collaboration with medical professionals; experience with research or data collection is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and behavioral therapy.
  • Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management techniques and de-escalation strategies to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, case management, and discharge planning while maintaining accurate medical documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
