About The Position

The Inpatient Staff Accountant is an entry-level position responsible for general ledger accounting for approximately 10 hospitals. The role includes analytical review of hospital operations, balance sheet reconciliations, and serving as the primary contact for hospital controllers. The position reports to the accounting supervisor and must be based at the Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• No previous accounting or auditing experience is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or desire to obtain one.
• Experience with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for approximately 10 hospitals, with training.
• Perform analytical reviews of hospitals.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Serve as the primary contact for hospital controllers.
• Identify and resolve problems encountered by hospital controllers.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
