About The Position

The Inpatient Speech Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing, as prescribed by a physician. This role also assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs to enhance the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.
  • Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.
  • Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.
  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
