FTE: 1.0, Shift: Days, Schedule: Days/Rotating weekends Position Summary The Recreation Therapist assesses, plans, develops, implements, and modifies therapeutic recreation services as referred by a physician to help reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover basic physical and mental abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively. You will evaluate and treat patients in leisure skills, community skills, and recreational skills. You will provide written documentation of all services rendered and participate as a member of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation
Certification as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS) is required
Previous experience working with adults with physical and cognitive disabilities
Experience with current therapeutic procedures and evaluation techniques in therapeutic recreation
BLS Certification
Current Washington State Driver's License: proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Responsibilities

Evaluates patients and develops treatment plan when necessary
Provides therapy to inpatients and outpatients
Provides resources to patients and their significant others to assist patients with building leisure and recreation skills
Provides timely and accurate documentation for all services delivered
