About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatric Director to join our team at Wakulla Continuum of Care Unit located in Crawfordville, Florida, just 15 miles Southeast of Tallahassee. This is one of the most diverse and innovative male institutions in the US. Provide inpatient or outpatient services within this state-of-the-art male correctional institution. Utilize some of the most innovative programming and use of specialized Residential Mental Health Units to assist those with serious mental illness. The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multi-disciplinary team in providing behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.

Requirements

Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
Current license to practice medicine as a psychiatrist in the state of Florida required
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification
Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferred

Responsibilities

Lead inpatient psychiatric services while supervising a multidisciplinary team composed of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Mental Health Professionals in a provider friendly environment where clinical care is prioritized.
Provide inpatient or outpatient services within this state-of-the-art male correctional institution.
Utilize some of the most innovative programming and use of specialized Residential Mental Health Units to assist those with serious mental illness.
Provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients.
Works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director.
Provides clinical leadership for a multi-disciplinary team in providing behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.
