About The Position

The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications and maintaining drug inventory and patient records. The technician accepts new orders from prescribers, enters order information into the electronic record, and prepares and affixes labels. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when compounding nonsterile, sterile, and hazardous products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ohio applicants must have an active Ohio Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician License, or an Ohio Board of Pharmacy Intern license and P2 status in schooling.
• Michigan applicants must have an active Michigan Board of Pharmacy Technician License, or a Michigan Board of Pharmacy Intern license and P2 status in schooling.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification is required through either the PTCB or ExCPT (NHA) exam, unless the applicant has an intern license.
• Must be able to lift materials up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit, reach, stand, squat, kneel, walk, use stairs, move between workstations, and perform frequent manual manipulations that may affect the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
