About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 1 works under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and follows standard procedures to assist with dispensing and transporting medications. This entry-level position learns non-sterile and/or sterile compounding and maintains required documentation and records. Duties include supporting medication preparation and distribution, including IV compounding and Pyxis replenishment, and assisting pharmacists with daily operations.

The position is based at Memorial Hospital Belleville, an acute care hospital providing medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, diagnostic and treatment services, and heart and vascular care. The schedule consists of 8-hour day shifts starting between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., 2–3 evening shifts per month, every third weekend, and a holiday rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration.
• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.

• Pharmacy Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation, and maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
• Assists with medication-order preparation, including workflow management, basic preparation and dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated and electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
• Supports inventory storage, ordering, rotation, beyond-use dating, and cleanliness.
• Assists with medication preparation and distribution, including IV compounding and Pyxis replenishment, and supports pharmacists with daily operations.
