About The Position

This job supports the daily functions of the clinical pharmacy team, including implementation, maintenance, and quality assurance of clinical pharmacy services. Demonstrates mastery of clinical skills and is committed to maintenance of clinical competency, continued professional growth, and advancement of pharmacy practice within the institution. Assists leadership with facilitating bidirectional communication throughout the department. Maintains 80% to 95% of time on direct patient care and quality improvement and 5%-20% on administrative function, depending on the number of clinical pharmacists supervised. This job must demonstrate actions consistent with company expectations as duties are performed on a daily basis, and serves as a role model to peers, residents, students, and technicians and is expected to foster a positive, collaborative, learning environment within the pharmacy department.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Current Pharmacy license in the state of practice
  • 1 year experience practicing in a hospital or academic setting
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all members of the health care team
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
