About The Position

This job performs a variety of clerical tasks to provide support to the assigned department and/or manager. Assumes responsibility for computer data entry, typing and copying miscellaneous paperwork, and maintaining various report files. Schedule: Days and evening shifts available To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • 1 year office experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently, set priorities and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills required to effectively perform several tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong typing capabilities and a basic understanding of data processing.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with EPIC

Responsibilities

  • Answers phones and conveys messages to staff accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enters patient data into the computer system and prints computer generated reports.
  • Assists with the filing and maintenance of department records.
  • Communicates in a professional, positive and clam manner to facilitate a cooperative and collaborative environment.
  • Assists departmental staff when needed.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
