About The Position

Under the general guidance of the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager, this role provides operational and clinical pharmacy leadership within a specialty area. The Inpatient Pharmacist Team Lead collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal drug therapy for patients, focusing on proper drug selection, dose, route, duration, and cost-effectiveness. This position involves developing, implementing, and coordinating pharmacy programs, enhancing existing services, and overseeing clinical and operational pharmacy initiatives. The Team Lead works with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery, maintain safety and regulatory standards, and perform human resource functions. Additionally, the role serves as the Pharmacist-In-Charge, ensuring pharmacy operations comply with all laws related to pharmacy practice, drug distribution, and supervision of pharmacy personnel.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completion of a pharmacy residency program or 2 years of work experience as a registered pharmacist.
• SC Pharmacist License
• Current BLS Certification (within 90 days of start date)

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical pharmacy leadership within specialty area.
• Ensure optimal drug therapy to patients as evidenced by proper drug selection, dose, route, duration of therapy, and cost effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate pharmacy programs.
• Enhance the quality of existing services in specialty area.
• Provide oversight and monitoring of clinical and operational pharmacy initiatives and services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize the delivery of care.
• Ensure relevant safety, regulatory, certification and/or accreditation standards are maintained.
• Perform various required human resource functions.
• Serve as the Pharmacist-In-Charge and ensure the operation of the pharmacy is in conformance with all laws pertinent to the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of drugs and supervision of pharmacy personnel.
