Inpatient Nurse Tech - Full Time 7a-7p
About The Position
The Inpatient Nurse Tech is a safety-sensitive paraprofessional who assists registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care. Under the direction and supervision of an RN, the Nurse Tech may assist patients with activities and personal care, provide comfort measures, help maintain a safe and clean environment, and assist with certain tests and procedures for the specific patient population served. The role supports nursing and medical staff in pursuit of optimum patient outcomes. The position works 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., plus one Saturday per month. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintain current Nurse Technician competency as outlined in the department’s competency program.
- Basic Life Support certification before the start date, or complete an OSH class within 60 days of starting at no charge.
- Demonstrate the cognitive, technical, and interpersonal skills needed to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an RN.
- Cooperation and a strong team focus.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated competency in current caregiver practices specific to the unit and patient age group.
Nice To Haves
- Zero to six months of prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program.
