Inpatient Nurse Tech - Full Time 7a-7p
About The Position
The Inpatient Nurse Tech is a safety-sensitive paraprofessional who assists registered nurses with direct and indirect patient care. Under RN direction and supervision, the technician may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and certain tests or procedures for a specific patient population, depending on the area. The role supports nursing and medical staff in helping achieve optimum patient outcomes. The regular schedule includes three 7 a.m.–7 p.m. shifts Monday through Friday and one 8-hour Saturday shift as the only weekend requirement. During the first week of employment, the schedule is Monday through Friday on 8-hour day shifts. The position qualifies for the full benefits package and discretionary quarterly bonuses. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Maintain current competency as a Nurse Technician as outlined in the department’s competency program.
- Basic Life Support certification before the start date, or complete a class at OSH within 60 days at no charge.
- Cognitive, technical, and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an RN.
- Cooperation and a strong team focus.
- Knowledge of and competency in current caregiver practices that are specific to the unit and patient age.
Nice To Haves
- Zero to six months of prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program.
