About The Position

The Manager of Med/Surg - Telemetry is a Registered Nurse who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all nursing service functions within the Med/Surg - Telemetry departments. The role supervises, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the delivery of patient care. It develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. The manager supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel and time. The role is directly accountable to the CNO/DON and communicates effectively with staff, physicians, and administration, both in writing and verbally. The position is full-time and exempt, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CST schedule on the day shift. It is based at St. Mary's of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where free parking is available.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain it.
At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
At least three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
Current ACLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain it.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for hires after 1/11/2021.
