About The Position

LEAD NURSING EXCELLENCE IN RURAL ALASKA Are you a passionate nurse leader looking to make a meaningful impact in a close-knit community while advancing rural healthcare? Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (BBAHC) is seeking an experienced Emergency/Inpatient Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations across our Inpatient, Emergency Department, and Medevac services. Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Alaska RN license (or ability to obtain within one year of hire).
  • Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Recent Medical-Surgical and/or Emergency Department clinical experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Critical Access Hospital experience.
  • TNCC, ENPC, NRP, or ALSO certifications.
  • Rural healthcare experience and a passion for serving remote communities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations across inpatient, emergency, and medevac services.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
  • Supervise staffing, scheduling, and workforce development activities.
  • Lead competency programs, clinical training, and staff performance initiatives.
  • Promote regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Support budget management, operational efficiency, and strategic planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
