About The Position

Provides pharmaceutical care to emergency room patients of Saint Alphonsus and mentors the next generation of pharmacists. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for adults and pediatrics in the emergency department setting. Responds to time-sensitive emergencies with the care team throughout the hospital. Reviews patient histories and executes evidence-based care plans, including patient education, for optimal outcomes. Prepares pharmaceutical products for patients’ use by safe and cost-effective methods using acceptable professional standards. Comprehends and supports quality assurance and risk management issues. Participates in emergency medicine pharmacy services development, various departmental duties, material resource management, safety, and other issues. Supervises technicians and pharmacy support staff.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
  • Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy
  • Inpatient experience required
  • Within 6 months of hire, ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
  • Adaptable to institutional roles and schedules

Nice To Haves

  • Residency preferred
  • Previous experience in emergency medicine preferred
