About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder with a minimum of 5 years of experience coding for an acute care teaching and trauma level 1 facility. The ideal candidate will be experienced in coding trauma and complex medical cases and surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties. This role requires proficiency with Cerner and 3M systems and a RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential. The position is full-time with a flexible schedule after initial training, and requires one weekend day per week. The preferred shift is between 8 am and 5 pm EST, but flexibility is possible.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience coding for an acute care teaching and trauma level 1 facility.
  • Experience coding trauma and complex medical cases and surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties including but limited to cardiac, vascular, interventional radiology, spinal, neurosurgery, neurology, transplants, oncology, oral surgery, orthopedics, psyche/behavioral medicines, OB/GYN, neonatal, pediatrics, general medicine and general surgery.
  • Experience with Cerner and 3M.
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credential.
  • Able to work full time (40 hours a week).
  • Able to work 1 weekend day a week.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated enough to be successful working in a remote environment with minimum supervision.

  • Working full time (40 hours a week).
  • Working 1 weekend day a week.
  • Coding 10 complex cases a day.
  • Maintaining a minimum of 95% accuracy.
