About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full-time Clinical Dietitian to support nutrition services at UNC Health Johnston Smithfield, a 150-bed hospital in Smithfield, North Carolina. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced RD looking to make an impact in the lives of patients. The role involves comprehensive nutrition assessments, counseling, multidisciplinary rounding, patient and staff education, quality improvement projects, serving as a preceptor for dietetic interns, and providing coverage for other inpatient dietitians on weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credentials
  • Licensure in North Carolina
  • Employees who work at UNC Health Johnston Smithfield Hospital are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment, absent a legally required exception, and are required to report their vaccination status and provide proof of vaccination
  • Strong leadership skills, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to creatively problem solve, work independently with minimal supervision, and make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for comprehensive nutrition assessments/reassessments and counseling of general and complex patients and their families per the Nutrition Care Process model.
  • Actively participate in daily multidisciplinary rounding with care team members.
  • Provide education to patients, as well as staff, and work well with interdisciplinary team.
  • Be involved in quality improvement projects as needed and perform test trays weekly.
  • Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns, as needed.
  • Provide coverage for other inpatient dietitians on weekends, holidays, and as assigned.
