About The Position

This role involves developing, teaching, and practicing state-of-the-art, evidence-based medicine. This recruitment is for a gastroenterologist with an interest in General GI, seeking expertise in areas such as IBS, GERD, and colon cancer screening. The position requires competence in performing EGD and colonoscopy with polypectomy. Proficiency in ERCP and/or EUS is not a requirement. Salary and rank will be determined by qualifications and experience. Primary responsibilities include providing Emergency Department and inpatient coverage, as well as expanding outpatient clinical care at UCI Health community clinical sites in Fountain Valley and other UCI locations.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
Candidates must possess a M.D. or D.O. degree
Board-certified and have California licensure
Active and current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

Expertise in disease or treatment groups such as IBS, GERD, and colon cancer screening.
Competent in performing EGD and colonoscopy with polypectomy.

Responsibilities

Providing Emergency Department and inpatient coverage
Expanding outpatient clinical care at UCI Health community clinical sites in Fountain Valley and other UCI locations
Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC policies and procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state and federal privacy laws.
Maintain a professional, team-based approach in the care of patients.
