About The Position

The Inpatient Cardiology Pharmacist position at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN involves providing exceptional care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures or receiving cardiology care in intensive care or general cardiology units. This role focuses on decentralized clinical services, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, drug-related problem identification, anticoagulation management and stewardship, pharmacokinetic monitoring, and optimization of drug therapy. Responsibilities also include documentation of recommendations, participation in multidisciplinary team rounding, medication reconciliation for admissions and discharges, transition of care planning, and direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience including PGY1 plus 1 year experience in cardiology clinical practice, PGY2 training in cardiology or related clinical specialty, or equivalent experience of 3 years in cardiology clinical practice
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly pursuits including research/quality improvement, publications, or scientific presentations
  • Relevant applicable pharmacy experience working in a progressive and collaborative practice environment
  • Experience and/or interest in teaching and/or precepting
  • Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy Specialty (BCPS)
