Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) Senior Adult Unit | Addison Gilbert Hospital – Gloucester, MA Be the clinical voice that helps seniors—and their families—navigate healing, stability, and recovery. Addison Gilbert Hospital’s Senior Adult Unit is seeking a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who is passionate about advocating for older adults and guiding patients through meaningful, therapeutic transitions in care. This is a highly collaborative role where your clinical judgment, leadership, and compassion directly impact patient outcomes. On our Senior Adult Unit, patients often face complex medical, emotional, and social challenges. You’ll play a critical role in coordinating care, supporting recovery, and ensuring safe, thoughtful transitions, all while working within a supportive, interdisciplinary team that values your expertise.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
  • Current Massachusetts LICSW required
  • Prior clinical leadership experience or demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong skills in: Individual case management & managed care
  • Motivational Interviewing and short‑term treatment models
  • De‑escalation and restraint management techniques
  • Psychosocial assessment and treatment planning
  • Brief family interventions
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced inpatient environment

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver safe, therapeutic treatment for patients on the Senior Adult Unit
  • Conduct ongoing psychosocial and case management assessments
  • Advocate for patient needs and communicate effectively with the treatment team
  • Identify and address barriers to discharge and treatment transitions
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with families, insurers, and community providers
  • Facilitate individual and group therapeutic interventions to support recovery and prevent relapse
  • Educate patients and families on illness, treatment options, and recovery pathways
  • Maintain accurate documentation and clinical records
  • Participate in clinical and administrative meetings that support quality patient care
  • Work closely with reimbursement partners to optimize high‑quality, patient‑centered care
