Innovations Engineering Co-op

Corning•City of Corning, NY
•$42,510 - $82,810•Onsite

About The Position

The Emerging Innovations Group (EIG) transforms Corning’s materials, process, and technology expertise into new products, processes, and manufacturing capabilities. Teams develop and scale emerging technologies from early concept through commercialization. The Innovations Engineering Co-op works alongside engineers, scientists, technicians, and operations teams on hands-on projects in laboratory, prototype, pilot, and manufacturing environments. Assignments depend on business needs, project availability, and the student’s academic background and interests. Potential technical areas include process engineering; industrial and manufacturing engineering; engineering data analytics; and automation, controls, and measurement. Projects may involve process development and scale-up, workflow and capacity analysis, technical data analysis and reporting, or sensors, instrumentation, controls, robotics, and connected manufacturing systems. The co-op provides hands-on experience advancing early-stage technologies and operational capabilities, exposure to technical and manufacturing environments, mentorship from technical and operational professionals, and opportunities to apply engineering, data analysis, experimentation, and continuous-improvement methods to projects with technical and business impact. The position requires full-time, on-site work for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks. The position does not support immigration sponsorship.
