About The Position

The Innovation Technical Analyst helps support the Global Coatings Innovation team by maintaining innovation systems, processes and supporting procedures. This includes researching, procuring, testing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading innovation hardware, software and peripherals. The person will also work with internal and external customers troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide training and assistance as required. This position works in a fast-paced environment and assists the team in meeting Key Business Initiatives as well as project velocity goals and target dates. This requires the use of good judgement, initiative and ingenuity to work independently and collaboratively to meet business needs and make innovative contributions to business needs, challenges and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and experience with technology solutions, support techniques, and processes used within the business area
  • Experience and understanding of hardware, software, and networked devices.
  • Ability to operate tools, hardware and software components and peripheral accessories
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to provide quality work and support to both internal and external customers
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced multi-project and initiative environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion
  • Team player and the ability to work collaboratively with others from all areas of Valmont
  • Ability to communicate user requirements into systematized and standardized solutions

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on current and emerging technologies in support of innovation procurement and development efforts and recommend high-fit solutions.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated Innovation hardware, software and supporting peripherals
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory of all innovation systems hardware and software to ensure proper lifecycle methodology
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform hardware, software and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring innovation system performance
  • Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with the Innovation team and audit to assure all systems and programs within the adhere to company standards and include appropriate controls and audit trails
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex system problems for a variety of internal and external customers and recommend and implement corrective solutions
  • Receive and respond to incoming service request tickets, calls, e-mails and other requests regarding Innovation system problems and work to resolution
  • Participates in both project and release management activities, i.e., sprint planning, daily standups, work item tracking, sprint demos, and stage and production validation
  • Assists in writing, documenting and maintaining customer training materials, service desk tickets and change management tickets
