About The Position

The Innovation Solutions Engineer plays an essential role in driving technological advancements that improve member outcomes and operational efficiency. This position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining innovative software solutions. The Innovation Solutions Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including healthcare professionals, data scientists, and product managers to understand complex healthcare requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with a demonstrated proficiency in web-focused programming languages required.
  • Experience with scripting languages and HTML5 for web-based interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop secure and compliant software solutions in regulated environments.
  • Relevant education may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, or blockchain applied to healthcare.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or healthcare IT (e.g., CPHIMS).
  • Previous work experience in a clinical or social assistance setting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze healthcare processes and identify opportunities for technological innovation to improve service delivery and patient care.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy software and hardware applications using applicable programing languages to meet healthcare-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and external vendors to gather and analyze system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design new healthcare software systems, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Stay current with emerging healthcare technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to inform solution development.
  • Document technical specifications, project progress, and well-documented code, utilizing scripting languages for front-end and automation tasks.
  • Use version control to manage codebase changes, collaborate with team members, and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
