About The Position

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking an Innovation & Design Intern to join the 2027 Spring Internship class. The Innovation & Design Intern will support various initiatives executed by the Global Innovation & Design Center, which equips IJM program teams to use human-centered design for greater innovation, scale, and impact. The intern will assist teams around the world in problem-solving and enhancing their programs. This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area and requires 40 hours per week. Interns receive a monthly stipend to help defray expenses, which is not an hourly wage.

Requirements

  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship
  • At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations
  • Ability to commit to a schedule consistent with the required time commitment (20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours)
  • Experience in research, writing, and MS Office Suite applications
  • Experience in policy, technology, advocacy, design, and/or data
  • Ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary settings and ambiguity
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones
  • Strong self-starter and able to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Support developing IJM’s partner-facing data management system
  • Support intervention lifecycle development
  • Support innovation events and brainstorming sessions
  • Synthesizing and analyzing qualitative data sets
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support
