About The Position

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking an Innovation & Design Intern to join the 2027 Spring Internship class. The Innovation & Design Intern will support various initiatives executed by the Global Innovation & Design Center, which equips IJM program teams to use human-centered design for greater innovation, scale, and impact. The intern will assist teams around the world in problem-solving and enhancing their programs. This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Washington, DC area and requires 40 hours per week. Interns receive a monthly stipend to help defray expenses, which is not an hourly wage.

Requirements

Completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship
At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations
Ability to commit to a schedule consistent with the required time commitment (20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours)
Experience in research, writing, and MS Office Suite applications
Experience in policy, technology, advocacy, design, and/or data
Ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary settings and ambiguity
Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones
Strong self-starter and able to work independently
