About The Position

The Innovation & Design Intern will support various initiatives executed by the Global Innovation & Design Center who equips IJM program teams to use human-centered design for greater innovation, scale and impact. The Innovation & Design Intern will support our teams around the world problem-solve and enhance their programs.

Requirements

  • Prospective interns need to have completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of their internship.
  • At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations.
  • Ability to commit to a schedule consistent with the required time commitment listed above (20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours).
  • Experience in research, writing, and MS Office Suite applications.
  • Experience in policy, technology, advocacy, design, and/or data.
  • Ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary settings and ambiguity.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Strong self-starter and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support developing IJM’s partner-facing data management system
  • Support intervention lifecycle development
  • Support innovation events and brainstorming sessions
  • Synthesizing and analyzing qualitative data sets
  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support
