About The Position

As a part of the Rocket Discovery Centre at KidsAbility, the Innovation Coordinator Co-op Student will support process improvement, project coordination, and knowledge translation activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative innovation environment, working with multiple levels of the organization. The successful candidate will act as a team player and develop practical skills in project management, research support, and communications.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (e.g., health sciences, business, engineering, social sciences, or a related field)
  • Eligible for a co-op work term
  • Interest in health service delivery, research, and/or innovation
  • Enjoys organizing work and using technology to be productive
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction
  • Developing organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, empathize with others, and be self-aware
  • Comfortable working with diverse groups and collaborating as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and visual communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Copilot, and other apps in the O365 suite

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination and refinement of research programs and internal processes
  • Assist with project planning, tracking, and documentation
  • Help facilitate project meetings and prepare status updates for stakeholders
  • Support teams to meet goals and timelines
  • Assist in identifying and documenting project risks and issues
  • Support the organization of administrative research requirements (e.g., Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), proposals, ethics approvals)
  • Help coordinate onboarding of research students and project leads
  • Support the communications team in developing communications materials for the Rocket Discovery Centre
  • Help communicate research outcomes to internal and external audiences
  • Assist in creating knowledge translation materials, including reports, presentations, and infographics
  • Support the organization of workshops, seminars, and events to share research insights
  • Help document and profile innovations and the people involved in projects
  • Assist with analyzing department data and trends to identify opportunities for research and development
  • Support coordination of qualitative and quantitative evaluation
  • Assist with data collection
  • Help analyze data using descriptive statistics to evaluate the impact of research initiatives
  • Support the preparation of evaluation reports and summaries of research findings
